Fashion Fridays! Leiber Crystal Evening Bag

    The purse pictured above is spectacular!
    It is by Judith Leiber-a handbag design legend!
    Judith Leiber started her own handbag company in 1963 and eventually became renowned for her crystal covered minaudiere.
    The outstanding bag pictured above is made out of black satin and is covered in Austrian crystal.
    Inside of the bag there is a mirror and a coin purse.

    Because of it's Art Deco style purse frame and clasp this Judith Leiber purse reminds me of rhinestone purses from the 1920's.

    Today is known as Black Friday (the busiest shopping day of the year) and as Buy Nothing Day (a day when you are supposed to restrain yourself from consuming).
    I like the idea behind "Buy Nothing Day". But, I feel that something that would be good to do today and year round would be for people to shop from small local businesses, small online businesses and from arts and crafts makers.
    Today I have found an array of accessories that include vintage parts in the making of the final product. Reclaiming something old and turning it into something new is a great idea!
    So, think of buying from an online or local craftsperson or artisan.
    Or see what you can whip up yourself!
    I love taking miscellaneous vintage odds and ends and turning them into something new like jewelry, purses, sculptures, cards, etc...

    I am not a huge fan of pants but, I love these "Snips & Snails Trousers"!
