Kitschmasland by Travis Smith

Kitschmasland

In the book Kitschmasland, Travis Smith writes of his love of Christmas decor and decorating that took root in his childhood in the 1960's while living in a mid-century modern home.

His love of holiday decor continues today and is the basis for this book.

In the book there are photos and prices for a wide range of 50's, 60's and 70's Christmas collectibles including: reindeer, Santa Clauses, snowmen, angels, ornaments, artifical trees, giftwrap, Christmas lights, Holt Howard as well as many other types of collectibles.

One of my favorite features of the book is that there are photo spreads of mid-century Christmas collector's homes decorated in Christmas style.

This book is sure to delight any connoisseur of Christmas kitsch.

Oh what fun
It is to look
At your vintage ornaments....hey!

OK - maybe that didn't work out quite like "jingle bells" - however - we love your posts about all of these lovely Christmas Kitsch ornaments, and the like!
This book looks fun - we'll have to check it out!

I bought this book in 2006 because over the years, I have gathered quite the collection of various kitschy christmas items. I have found that yard sales and flea markets are still the best hunting grounds. You sometimes get lucky at thrift stores ( depending on where you live). I sometimes pick up something fun at a antique store depending on how much I love it. This book is great, and for anyone who loves this era in history and christmas then consider starting to gather these fun and still afordable trinkets. It adds a bit of your childhood to the season.
